Jared Guest‘s “robust baritone” has made him an in-demand performer across the United States. Mr. Guest was a 2016 Regional Finalist of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and was awarded the Encouragement Award in 2015. In 2016-2017, he won a Career Bridges Award Grant for talented, young opera singers and debuted with Sarasota Opera‘s Studio Artist program covering the roles of Sharpless (Madama Butterfly) and Taddeo (L’italiana in Algeri). Last season, he returned to Sarasota in the fall singing Baron Douphol (La traviata) and was heard in the winter season as Morales (Carmen) while covering Escamillo and Sebastiano (Tiefland). This season included a return to Sarasota Opera singing the Mandarin in Turandot and covering the roles of Ping (Turandot) and the Tile Role in Nabucco. He also made his debut with Teatro Grattacielo as Un banditore and covering the baritone lead of Bardo in Cilea’s Gloria. A graduate of the University of Houston‘s Moores School of Music, Guest has participated in a number of prestigious training programs including Opera Colorado, Chautauqua Opera Company, and Opera in the Ozarks, and has performed with Opera in the Heights, Salt Marsh Opera, LoftOpera, Vespertine Opera Theater, and Chelsea Opera. Mr. Guest is currently based in Bend, OR.
